Giacomo Corno was born on March 31, 1928 in Lissone, where he lives and works. He grows up in Brianza maturing the personality of a man and entrepreneur.

He graduated at 18 years of age in Accounting and got a degree in Economics and Business Studies at 23 at the Bocconi University in Milan. His professional activity in Lissone becomes operational in 1948.

From the very beginning, Studio Corno is designed to become a management, ethical and strategic partner for enterprises, in Italy and worldwide. The visionary mind of the founder, combined with his passion for the job, allows him to immediately capture the needs of businesses and entrepreneurs alike. For twenty years he proposes and organises fairs and trade missions in more than 35 states all over the world, including the United States, UAE, China, India, Australia, Africa, Russia and Europe. Over the years he had managed and solved some highly important business events and situations, some of which even aroused the interest of newspapers and television programmes dealing with economics. He was also a member of the Executive Committee, Chairman of the Board of Statutory Auditors and the Programming Committee of Deutsche Bank, and is special adviser to other national and international banking groups. In 1978 Giacomo Corno founds CIS, Centro Studi d’Impresa, based in Valmadrera, on Lake Como, a splendid nineteenth century villa that hosts international conferences and seminars, technological educational classrooms for school-work alternance training, plus business organisation and corporate culture interactive laboratories. CIS becomes a high-level management school, organising courses and international masters with exceptional partners such as: Il Sole 24 Ore, IBM, Siemens, Deutsche Bank, Banco Desio, as well as business schools and universities such as Columbia University , the Moscow State University, Indian Institute of Management in Calcutta, XIME in Bangalore.

He teaches for 20 years, first as a Professor of International Economics at the Moscow State University MGU, then as Corporate Business Professor at the prestigious Plekhanov University which awarded him an Honorary Degree on 19 February 2013.

The life of Giacomo Corno is also characterised by his commitment to the social sector: hospitals, the elderly, disabled, drug addicts, earthquake victims, parents considering adoption.

Every sector translates into an industrious proposal of which he takes on the presidency: the Elderly People’s Home and the Laboratory for the Disabled in Lissone. He is also present in the Exodus Foundation, the community of Don Mazzi dedicated to the rehabilitation and the employment of drug addicts and ex-convicts and also worked as a volunteer in the post-earthquake reconstruction of Friuli with the Claps Furlans Association.

In 1999 he founded the non-profit Crescere Insieme (Growing Together) Association for international adoptions of children from Russia and the Ukraine. He passed away in November 2014.
